Want to Make Changes in Your Life? 5 Ways to Align Yourself With What You Want

Life Changing Therapy Remotely

Regardless of how successful you are, how many goals you have achieved, or how much you’ve grown over the years, chances are that there are some things, big or small, that you would like to change. Whether it’s in your career, relationships, or personal development, we all have areas we want or even feel like we need to improve on.

Many people feel like they are a victim of circumstance, but we all have more power in our lives than we realize.

While there will always be things out of our control, such as how other people behave or the things that happen to us, we can always control our own behaviors and how we show up in our careers, relationships, and personal lives.

The stories we tell ourselves about ourselves and our lives on a regular basis are powerful. The repetitive thoughts and beliefs you hold about yourself and others may be impacting your life more than you think, and until you become aware of those repetitive thoughts and beliefs, they will keep influencing your behaviors and ultimately your life.

Before any type of change can take place, gaining awareness is key.

I often talk about how you can’t do something about something you’re unaware of, and that it’s what you don’t know that you don’t know that runs the show.

When people come to me asking for help to make changes in their lives, I always start by explaining the importance of gaining awareness and understanding of the issues that are holding them back so they can make real, meaningful changes that are long-term and sustainable.

This is why I utilize RTT Hypnotherapy as one of many powerful tools in combination with Coaching. My clients and I are able to speed up the process of coaching by digging to the root cause of their emotional struggles and breaking them down using RTT Hypnotherapy, along with other tools and techniques based in Brain Science and Emotional Intelligence.

Rather than a long, drawn out process of resistance and struggle to overcome emotional issues, RTT + Coaching allows those issues to simply dissolve. I witnessed first hand how rapidly RTT can change your life when I experienced my own results with overcoming my reliance on Coca-Cola. Immediately after my RTT sessions I felt like something had changed but I wasn’t cognizant of what exactly did. A couple weeks later, I realized that my reliance on Coca-Cola had faded, not in a big struggle, but I just didn’t feel like I needed it anymore. My negative and deeply-held thoughts and beliefs that were manifesting themselves as a reliance on Coke had just melted away.

For more complex issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, low confidence, relationship issues, and addiction, RTT alone is not an effective solution. With RTT Hypnotherapy + Coaching, the things you are struggling with suddenly lose their power over you, but not in a big struggle. The power they have over you simply dissolves. To this day, I can have a Coke when I want it but I don't need it and my life isn’t centered around it. I don't feel the need to have a Coke after a bad day or to celebrate something exciting. You can read more about my experience with RTT here.

Utilizing RTT + Coaching, we can help you gain awareness of your deep-rooted thoughts, beliefs, expectations, and interpretations of past experiences so that you can make room for big changes in your life. While RTT does produce rapid results, it’s not something you can do at this very moment, which is why I have compiled a list of five ways you can begin aligning yourself with what you want today.

Here are five ways to align yourself with what you want in your life:

1. Create a story of what you want to happen and live as if that story is already reality.

I tell my clients to collect pictures, phrases, or any objects that represent what they would like to have and place them somewhere where they will see them on a daily basis, like in front of the bathroom mirror. Having these reminders to align your present thoughts and beliefs with the life you want is a powerful way to visualize yourself where you want to be.

2. Focus your attention on what you want to have happen while being grateful for what already is.

When you spend your days focusing on everything that is “wrong” in your life, you may subconsciously attract more negativity. Instead, focus on the beautiful things you already have and all the goals you have achieved. There was likely once a time when you dreamed of being where you are right now, so it’s important to remember that and be grateful for everything you do have. Our thoughts and feelings have an energetic quality, and gratitude has a high frequency that can help you attract less of what you don’t want, and more of what you do want.

3. Strive for progress, not perfection.

Perfectionism is often linked to a fear of failure, which can lead to procrastination and lack of action. If you are waiting for the circumstances to be “perfect” before you make a change in your life, you might possibly end up waiting forever. Nothing is going to be perfect, and even if you manage to achieve your definition of perfection, life changes so frequently that perfection cannot last forever. Instead of becoming paralyzed over a fear of failure and a need for perfection, be easier on yourself. All you can ever do is your best, and if you do your best everyday, you will be more productive than you think.

4. Feel the feelings of what you want to happen.

Thoughts alone are powerful, but the feelings those thoughts give us are even more powerful. The mind makes very little distinction between what is happening in reality and what is being vividly recalled. Spending time every day visualizing in as much detail as possible what exactly you want to have, achieve, or become, while it might sound silly, is a very effective way to speed up the process of positive change. One of the many techniques I use is the Inner Smile™ Technique. It is a visualization technique based in Brain Science that helps you capture one of your best life experiences and use it as a positive trigger for your goals. It increases relaxation, builds confidence, and can be used whenever you start to doubt yourself or have negative thoughts.

5. Make room in your life for what you want, not only in your physical world, but mentally and emotionally as well.

I’m sure you know what it feels like to have a cluttered physical space… It is stressful, overwhelming, and unproductive. When your house is cluttered, you probably spend some time going through everything to organize and get rid of the things that don’t serve a purpose anymore. But do you do this when your mind is cluttered? Clearing out old thought patterns that no longer serve you is a highly beneficial way to make room in your mind, and therefore your life, for the things that do bring you joy and purpose. While you’re doing your spring cleaning this year, don’t forget that what goes on in your life is often a reflection of what goes on in your mind.... Declutter your mind and make way for a fresh, new way of being to enter!

When you implement these tips, you will start to notice a shift in your life almost immediately. However, for long-standing issues that are highly complex, you might need a more targeted approach to change. With RTT + Coaching, you can overcome your biggest challenges and find a sense of peace, freedom, and clarity in all aspects of your life.
